Top pick: #4 (VERY VERY GRATEFUL) (3-1) - Lightly-raced and improving, gelding has been sharp in a pair of 7-furlong contets here at this tag after returning from a nine month layoff on July 21st. Speedy sort is stretched-out by a very good barn (Mark Zulueta) and it's a 26% winning move by a 21% trainer overall.
2nd pick: #8 (Navy Cross) (2-1) - The probable favorite, trainer John Servis drops him down from $25,000 to race for a $10K tag and this colt by "Empire Maker" has been competitive in two of four facing better. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #9 (Easter Glory) (4-1) - He comes into this off a strong second-place finish here at this level and distamce on July 21st. He had an inside post and a very comfortable trip that day, but draws outside for this and will need to avoid a wide trip.
4th pick: #1 (Royal Espresso) (12-1) - $150K gelding by "Medaglia d'Oro" has been a major bust and is dropped to a new low in price and stretched out in distance by a good barn (Lou Linder Jr). He showed nothing in his local (and dirt debut) on July 16th, but the drop and inside post should help him be more competitive.
