Top pick: #5 (CLASSIC SALSA) (2-1) - Colt was scratched the past two days out of stakes races to await this spot. He's won four of six since being claimed by New York regular Dave Jacobson for $12.5K in late Nov. Speed/stalker is the horse to beat if he brings his out of town form with him.
2nd pick: #7 (Oliver Zip) (9-2) - Lightly raced, he won a pair of sprint stakes at Aqueduct during the early part of 2014. Sent in for a 9-month layoff last April, he's raced twice since returning. Speedy sort defeated weaker at Laurel March 29 and has worked fast at Monmouth since.
3rd pick: #4 (Uptown Boy) (6-1) - Another with early speed, he's tired after setting the pace in his last pair since coming off a 7-month layoff in late March. Working very fast since his latest and a threat at a square price.
4th pick: #6 (Hardened Wildcat) (8-1) - Stretch runner was a stakes winner back in 2013, but hasn't been the same horse since returning from a 7-month layoff in March of 2014. Working very fast for this, and jockey Joe Bravo is in from Monmouth for the mount.
