Top pick: #6 (CANTONA) (6-1) - Veteran gelding has won both starts since coming off an eight week freshening on May 3. Strong finisher has been very reliable over the past 17 1/2 months and can cause a mild upset in today's feature.
2nd pick: #2 (Cousin Stephen) (8-5) - Promising 3yo has been freshened up since racing evenly in the $300k "Tampa Bay Derby" (G2) on March 8. Working steadily on the Saratoga training track for his return, and trainer Chad Brown's record here in 2014 is just short of amazing (9-8-1-0). Obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (San Cristo) (12-1) - Stretch out sprinter ran a career best when winning here facing weaker going six-furlongs on May 31. His local record is excellent (10-4-1-2), but he hasn't run well at this distance in the past.
4th pick: #8 (Graybignbadlikedad) (8-1) - No speed type draws a tough outside post for his style and will be far back early on. Grey gelding will need a fast and/or contested pace to rally into for anything more than a minor award.
