Top pick: #5 (DENZEL) (5-2) - Colt missed by a neck when racing here and facing slightly tougher on May 26th, going a mile. Colt by "Lion Heart" has finished second in four of his last five starts and is capable at this 7-furlong distance. Stalker drops a bit in class and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #7 (Draxhall Woods) (3-1) - Speedy sort set a quick and pressured pace and held gamely to miss by only a neck when racing here at this level and distance on May 10th. That made his record at this trip 3-1-2-0, and he draws a fine outside post. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Derby Gold) (4-1) - Speed/stalker came east from California in late summer and has gone 8-1-4-2 on this course since that time. He's in shape, in a top barn (Ramon Preciado), and should be involved from start-to-finish.
4th pick: #4 (Zalmon) (8-1) - Pa.-bred moves in with "open" company after an easy win here going a mile on May 15th when facing state-bred allowance foes. He's in career-best shape since being claimed by Marya Montoya for $16K on March 10th and is dangerous at a square price.
