Top pick: #4 (COACH A.J.) (5-2) - New York shipper was in the Pletcher barn early in his 2-year-old season and broke his maiden at saratoga on the grass racing for a $50K tag in late August. Claimed that day by Patty Farro, he failed in a pair of stakes for the new barn and was transfered to that of Linda Rice in the fall. Colt was a gate-to-wire winner at this trip Dec. 13 for the new trainer and is nicely spotted this afternoon.
2nd pick: #2 (Shaler) (3-1) - Grey son of "Mineshaft" was an impressive come from behind maiden winner when debuting here on Dec. 15. Pletcher trained colt has worked fast since and may be a talented one.
3rd pick: #3 (Battier ) (7-2) - The main speed, he's gone (3-2-1-0) overall and has proven in his starts that he's both game and has some flexibility as to style. Dangerous runner.
