Top pick: #7 (CROSSING) (3-1) - He enters off a pair of strong second-place finishes here at this level. The late of those came at this 6-furlong distance March 24th. Speed/stalker is in career best form since coming off almost a three month layoff in early February. His outside post will give jockey J D Acosta some early options.
2nd pick: #6 (Jimmy Soul) (4-1) - Claimed in late December by Heather Hollahan for $8,000, she immediately sent this gelding in for a nine week freshening. Brought back on March 1st, he was a wire-to-wire winner here facing mid-level Pa. bred starter-allowance foes. Speedy 4-year-old has some back class and is a win candidate right back.
3rd pick: #1 (Devil's Purge) (9-5) - The morning line favorite, speed/stalker has gone 3-0-1-2 at this level and distance since coming back from a seven-week freshening on Jan 3. Has the rail, is in career best form, and he was only a length back of 'Crossing' March 24th. An obvious contender, but at a short price.
4th pick: #4 (Mr Dithers) (6-1) - Barn shortens him up in distance and runs him without blinkers for the first time. Capable sprinting 7-2-2-1, he'll need a smart ride from apprentice Hernandez as there is early speed on both sides of him. Has a chance with his best.
