Top pick: #9 (GOLDEN ONE) - Gelding is working very fast at Monmouth for his first start since last March at Gulfstream. Lightly raced, he's already proven that he can compete facing tougher and his trainer (Mike Trombetta) is very good off of long layoffs (25%). Leading rider Carmouche is aboard, and if ready, this four-year-old can win this.
2nd pick: #11 (Allen's Touchdown) - Very lightly raced, he's finished second in his last two starts facing tougher and he'll move into a claimer today in his third start back off a 7 week freshening. Draws a good post and is an obvious contender.
3rd pick: #2 (P Buck) - Has the best early speed of these and runs second back off a 4 1/2 month layoff. Has the rail, is in a good barn, and has a bullet work at Monmouth six days ago. His speed makes him very dangerous.
4th pick: #10 (Maji Moto) - Trainer Lupe Precido drops this colt in price and shortens him up in distance. Draws a good post for his one-run style and can be a factor today at a nice price.
