Top pick: #7 (SOVERIGN CITIZEN) (4-1) - Claimed in early March for $25K by trainer Patty Farro, grey gelding has shown good early speed before tiring in both starts facing tougher since then. Barn drops him down to the purchase price today and he catches a field without a lot of other speed. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Enduring Star) (5-2) - He raced evenly here facing tougher on April 13th in his first since late June. Effort was his first on conventional dirt and trainer "Lupe" Preciado drops him into a claimer for the first time.
3rd pick: #6 (Quiet Rally) (5-1) - He's from the same barn as "Citizen" (Patty Farro) and is racing for the first time since Jan. 13. 4-year-old by "Real Quiet" has been racing evenly for some time now, but a recent fast work at Monmouth makes him a bit interesting.
4th pick: #2 (Champ Joey) (9-2) - No-speed type exits the same April 21st start as "Citizen" and was never involved at any point. Race was his first in two months and he'd finished second and third at this price prior to the layoff and would love a fast/and or contested pace.
