It was a useful debut for this $450,000 purchase, and trainer Todd Pletcher (29% second time out) has worked him three times since. Bred to handle this longer distance, and Jose Ortiz is aboard.
2nd pick: #9 (Michalz John) (4-1) - Colt tired here to finish 4th after setting a pressured pace at this level Oct. 4th. It was only his second start and first around two turns. Think he'll be competitive in this spot.
3rd pick: #1 (Josey Wales) (8-1) - Longshot never looked comfortable when finishing an even 4th here Oct. 17th. He has the rail, and this colt was very sharp at Delaware Park Sept. 12th. Can factor at a square price with a repeat of that effort.
4th pick: #7 (Curtis) (6-1) - Stretch out sprinter has the best early speed and has blinkers added for his first around two-turns. He's a threat if left alone on the lead in the first half-mile.
