Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (SMART MADDY) (7-2) - Lightly raced filly chased while wide and tired late facing tougher at Monmouth Sept. 12th. She had a difficult outside post that day and draws better while dropping down in class. Gets a slight edge in her local debut.
2nd pick: #6 (Union Square) (10-1) - Strong finisher ships down from Monmouth where she was at a disadvantage on that speed favoring surface. Mare has done her best racing locally (10-1-2-2) and is a stretch threat.
3rd pick: #13 (Ten Note Melody) (5-2) - Recent maiden winner is well bred and has been sharp in four-of-five starts since blinkers were added. Speed/stalker must over-come a tough outside post, but is a good fit if able to avoid losing ground from this slot.
4th pick: #10 (Red Beard) (10-1) - Another that's lightly raced, filly was involved in a pace duel last out and tired to finish a distant 3rd. A good effort, it was her third back from a 8 1/2 month layoff, and she should factor in this spot.
5th pick: #11 (East View) (12-1) - Stretch out sprinter chased and weakened late racing here at this level in a six-furlong sprint Sept. 8th. Grey filly needs to hurry from this outside post.
