Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (CHOVANES) (7-2) - He's been freshened up since winning two in a row during August. Speedy sort scored here on the second of that month before winning again at Monmouth on the 21. Working fast for his return, gelding is in a very good barn (Jorge Navarro).
nd pick: #6 (Big Discovery) (9-2) - Veteran finished an even third here at this level and distance Sept. 20. It was his first since coming from the west coast following a claim by the leading trainer here (Ramon Preciado). A win candidate from of the pace.
rd pick: #11 (Afleet Willy) (7-2) - Hard hitter enters in excellent form. He's gone 4-1-3-0 since late July and finished second here at this level and distance Sept. 13. His early speed should get him a nice spot despite his outside post and he must be left in the mix.
th pick: #12 (Sierra Ancha) (10-1) - Old timer moves up in class and is stretching out in distance. He missed by a 'neck' sprinting here for a $20K tag Sept. 26 in his first following a Mike Penaloza claim. Stalker has run well 11-2-2-1 at this trip in the past and may grab a share at a big price.
th pick: #5 (My Cousin Lou) (12-1) - Away poorly last out, he ran evenly once in stride to check in a non-threatening third. Lightly raced colt was four lengths in back of 'Afleet Willy' that day and has worked well since.
