Top pick: #6 (AWESOME DIXIE) (9-2) - One of three in here making their debuts and this colt by "Dixie Union" is in an excellent first-out barn (Kelly Breen 29%). Three-year-old has some impressive works on view and jockey Paco Lopez comes down I-95 from Monmouth for the mount.
2nd pick: #3 (Cosmic Gold) (5-1) - Son of "Mineshaft" cost $120,000 as a Keeneland sales yearling back in Sept. of 2012. Colt has been training at Fair Hill since mid-March and his trainer (Mike Trombetta) has enjoyed shipping in to Philly this year 14-5-2-2. It's of note that jockey Juan Pimentel is in for the ride.
3rd pick: #5 (Monkey's Medal) (3-1) - Home-bred is cutting back after finishing third in a pair of two-turn contests. He's been competitive in all three sprints and should be "dead-fit" for this attempt.
4th pick: #2 (Movie Night) (4-1) - The most experienced runner in this maiden contest, he likes to race evenly and will be cutting back after finishing a distant fourth here going a mile May 25th. Believe a minor award is his ceiling.
