Top pick: #4 (LEATHER PANTS) (3-1) - Home bred stretches out in distance after a pair of good efforts in her first pair sprinting. Excellent barn (Bob Reid Jr.) has this lightly-raced daughter of "Corinthian" improving, so I like her chances.
2nd pick: #5 (Valid Melody) (5-1) - Grey filly goes turf to dirt after an even effort at this level racing here on the grass June 30th. That run was encouraging and should set her up for a sharp try. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #8 (Bold Gabby) (5-2) - Another that's lightly-raced and stretching out in distance. Daughter of "Louis Quatorze" finished an even third here at this level when sprinting on a sloppy surface just eight days ago in her first off a Roy Houghton claim. Must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #6 (Sibby's Girl) (7-2) - Home bred by "Borrego" has gone 8-0-1-5 to date and is 6-0-1-4 locally. One-run type has been competitive in three straight since returning from a half year's absence in mid-May and should factor again this afternoon.
