Top pick: #8 (BELLA BERTIE) (2-1) - Filly has shown good early speed in her last pair and will be racing today for the first time since Nov. 24. Working fine for a good barn ("Lupe" Preciado) and she'll be dropping down in price and cutting back a bit in distance. Home-bred draws a fine outside post, meets a weak field, and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #7 (Gift Wrap) (8-5) - In a rather strange coincidence, she last raced on Nov. 24 in the same mile contest as "Bertie" and the pair finished in a virtual "dead heat" for the fourth spot. Grey filly has finished second in all three starts at this 7-furlong distance and is an obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Terrific Sunday) (5-1) - Lightly raced New Jersey-bred has rallied to finish third in her last pair, but did so without ever threatening. She travels a bit farther this afternoon and that's in her favor.
5th pick: #1a (Win Dancer) (8-1) - She's part of a Tony Correnti trained entry and the two fillies have separate riders listed. Home-bred is debuting, working steadily, and she need not be much to factor against these.
