Top pick: #3 (CALL WILL) (5-2) - Speed/stalker races third back off a two month layoff and first off a Kate DeMasi claim. Lightly raced 4-year-old tired last out after chasing the pace at this tag and trip Feb 28. He draws a better post today, has a tactical advantage, and it's apprentice Ritvo off and veteran Kendrick Carmouche on. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #2 (What's Your Excuse) (6-1) - Grey colt raced wide while never in contention facing tougher here March 14th when racing on a sloppy surface. It was his first off a two month break and it was probably nothing more than a conditioning effort. Trainer Roy Houghton drops him down while adding blinkers. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #4 (Sliver and Onions) (4-1) - Away for a year, there was a time when this grey gelding would have had no problem beating these. Speedy sort is working steadily for a new trainer (Mike Lerman) and he has him in a career soft spot. It's noted that veteran jockey Dana Whitney is in from Penn National for the mount. An obvious win candidate if ready.
