It was her first since early Feb. and first off a private trainer change to Marc Zulueta. She's run second in four of five starts on the dirt and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #8 (Carolina Gold) (3-1) - Well backed at the windows when debuting at this level Aug 21 at Monmouth, she rated, bid, and held down the place spot to a 'long gone' winner. Claimed that day by Keith Lebarron, she worked a sharp 5-furlongs here Sept 22 and draws a nice outside post at this 6.5-furlong trip.
3rd pick: #5 (Hazy Daisy) (5-1) - Jersey bred enters off a career best here facing weaker Sept 22. Filly broke sharply, set s good pace, and held well to check in third of seven, beaten 1 1/2 lengths. Pace factor, she should be involved most of the way.
4th pick: #6 (Don't Ask Me Why) (7-2) - Very lightly-raced 4-year-old missed by a 'neck' when debuting here at this tag going 5-fuirlongs on the grass July 18. Moved up in class and switched to the dirt 10-days later, she tired after forcing a quick pace. Must be left in the mix.
