Top pick: #5 (THE MUCKRATARY) (6-1) - Longshot has been freshened up since a poor effort sprinting against special weights on April 1st. Trainer Mario Serey Jr. adds lasix, drops her into a claimer, and stretches her out in distance. Home-bred meets a weak field and can take this at a square perice.
2nd pick: #1 (Get the Picture) (2-1) - The morning line favorite, she rallied to finish second to a "drop down" winner here at this tag and trip May 13th. Daughter of "Giant's Causeway" has the rail and is a major threat in this spot.
3rd pick: #2 (Risques Venom) (9-2) - Filly drops into a claimer off a very poor effort on April 15th. In her defense, I don't believe she cared for the muddy surface that afternoon, and the 3-year-old had been much more competitive prior to that.
4th pick: #6 (Gator Fan Festival) (8-1) - Lightly-raced and well-bred, she tired badly after showing sharp early speed sprinting on the Atlantic City turf April 27th. Effort was a career best and came off a 100 day layoff. Working nicely since, trainer John Scanlan drops her back down, moves her back to the dirt, and stretches her out in distance. Don't just dismiss.
