Top pick: #4 (SUZEE SUNRISE) - Wonderful racing mare has an outstanding overall mark (53-11-10-7 with almost $300K in earnings). Much improved since late Sept. when she was claimed by Scott Lake and she ships back from Atlantic City where she finished fourth in a grass sprint after a very wide trip from a tough outside post (11th of 11). In her previous start she was an easy winner here at this level. Stalker is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #5 (She Wants) - Greatly improved since a claim on Jan. 14th by Ron Dandy, mare is (4-1-0-2) since then and last out finished a rallying third here facing a bit tougher 10 days ago. The faster the pace, the better her chances.
3rd pick: #1 (Sherribaldi) - Speedy veteran was away for 11 months beginning in October of 2010 and has gone (5-1-1-0) since returning. Latest saw her finish a pace-chasing second in a 4.5 furlong sprint at Finger Lakes, her first start in a half-year. That April 30th effort should set her up for this and here speed makes her a threat.
