Top pick: #6 (MIDNIGHT CELLO) (3-1) - Lightly-raced colt ships up from Calder where he disappointed as the heavy favorite, going 7 furlongs on April 21st. He had a slow start and trainer Mark Vitali will stretch him out around two-turns for his Philly park debut. I like his chances.
2nd pick: #1 (Pushin On) (5-2) - He had an excellent debut here at this level and distance when he rated, bid to the front, and held to finish second to a "much the best" winner. He has the rail, is working fine, and Carmouche is back on the re-ride. Strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Swig It) (5-1) - Son of "Tapit" cost $400K and has shown early speed in both sprint appearances. Trainer Alan Goldberg stretches him out in distance and making back-to-back starts for the first time. Grey 3-year-old is in the small win mix.
4th pick: #2 (Gray Not Bay) (10-1) - Bit player has some talent and is (9-0-2-2) locally. Could grab a small share at a big price if one of the top three picks is sub-par.
