He rallied to finish 2nd at Aqueduct going a mile for a $16K tag Jan. 8th. However, in his follow up start there Feb. 7th, he was never involved facing much tougher special weights. Unless he skips the trip down I-95, jockey Jose Ortiz (who won five races yesterday at Aqueduct) is in for the mount.
2nd pick: #6 (Western Willie) (9-2) - Lightly raced, 4yo ships in from Laurel where he raced evenly at this claiming price Feb. 8th. He's moving off the rail, and veteran Ned Allard is adding blinkers.
3rd pick: #1 (Anois Agus Aris) (5-1) - He's raced evenly while never threatening in all four starts so far. Has the rail, and he's not that far off in 'figures' to the second and third picks. May grab a share at a square price.
4th pick: #8 (Saints Be Praised) (6-1) - On the sidelines since Dec. 20th, he finished 2nd here that day racing at this tag and trip. A good effort overall, he gives away a recency edge to the top two picks.
