Top pick: #5 (LEAVING TRAX) (5-2) - Freshened up since mid-April, colt has a new trainer (Marya Montoya) and she'll drop this colt into a career soft spot and switch him back from "poly" to real dirt. He has the best overall "figs," meets a weak group, and can break his maiden if ready off the 4 1/2 month layoff.
2nd pick: #6 (Bootleggin Cat) (3-1) - Nice effort here July 23rd saw him rally to finish second at this tag, then he raced wide and evenly in his latest facing slightly better. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #9 (Rick's Cafe) (6-1) - He ran well two back when finishing a pace-setting third at this tag, but regressed last out, although he did have some traffic issues. Don't just ignore in this sub-par field.
4th pick: #4 (Aye Jay Power) (10-1) - Lightly-raced Pa.-bred has shown a bit of speed in his first two appearances annd could grab a share of this with a bit of improvement.
