Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (ANDA) (3-1) - Very lightly-raced 5-year-old ships in from Presque Isle Downs where he went 4-1-3-0 over the summer racing on the Tapeta surface there. He was competitive on conventional dirt on the west coast last December and stalker can take this if he handles the local main track.
2nd pick: #4 (Che La Luna) (5-2) - He's been competitive in five straight dirt sprints and ships down from Monmouth Park where he missed by a 'neck' at this level Sept 4. In a good barn (Mike Vera) and this 4-year-old is an obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (John Eddie) (5-1) - Speedy sort ships from Monmouth where he tired badly while far back of 'Che La Una' Sept 4. He broke through the gate before the start that afternoon and that's usually a very good excuse to perform poorly. His early speed makes him a threat in his local debut.
4th pick: #6 (Dottie's Ray) (9-2) - Consistent 4-year-old has gone 12-2-2-5 overall with all but one of those starts being local. One-run type fits, but needs to step it up just a bit for a strong shot at the top prize.
