Trainer Dan Velazquez brings him back quickly, switches him to the turf, and stretches him out in distance. Bred for both, son of 'Stroll' should be involved from start-to-finish at a big price.
2nd pick: #5 (Menacing Dennis) (3-1) - NYRA invader has displayed sharp early speed before tiring in both starts at this level and distance at Saratoga. Colt was facing tougher fields at the Spa and is dangerous in this spot.
3rd pick: #9 (Ben of the Bridge) (5-2) - He's already making his fifth start since debuting July 15. Gelding was competitive in both Saratoga starts on the grass and must be left in the win mix.
4th pick: #6 (Champions Maternal) (5-1) - One of two entered by trainer John Servis and the pair race uncoupled. Son of 'Giant's Causeway' raced evenly when debuting on the Monmouth turf going a mile Sept. 11. Servis wins at a 21% rate second time out and is adding blinkers (a very strong 43% angle). It's noted that Paco Lopez is aboard today.
