Top pick: #5 (MY SPECIAL EFFORT) (7-2) - New York based trainer Rudy Rodriguez doesn't ship down to Philly all that often but has a tremendous record this year at 21-8-4-1 when he sends horses down I-95. This debuting filly by "Thunder Gulch" is working steadily at both Aqueduct and Belmont and meets a weak field in this spot. Barn won at Saratoga with a debuting 2-year-old this past Sunday and this New York bred can take this if ready.
2nd pick: #3 (Move Over Honey) (5-1) - She took betting action when debuting at this level June 25th at Delaware Park. Daughter of "Afleet Alex" raced evenly and has a pair of local works for this attempt. She's in a new barn (Ramon Preciado) and he wins at a solid 24% rate with new arrivals. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #7 (Velvet Sandy) (5-2) - Of those that have raced, she's done the best and last out finished third of eight, beaten just over a length racing here at this level July 19th. Filly has early speed and should be involved from start-to-finish.
4th pick: #4 (Anythingicandoforu) (6-1) - Her works are steady and she's from a top barn (Phil Aristone). Trainer is capable of having one ready, but one of the other selections seem more likely to win this.
