Top pick: #4 (ALPHA) - If you subtract his two efforts at Churchill Downs from his record, he's (7-5-2-0). Those two stakes in Kentucky, the (G1) Breeders' Cup Juvenile and this year's Kentucky Derby (G1) were races where he had serious problems at the start. In career best form and he can be placed just about anywhere and run well.
2nd pick: #6 (Golden Ticket) - Steady performer finished in a dead-heat with "Alpha" in the (G1) Travers at Saratoga last out in what was a career topper. Win came off a 3 1/2 month layoff and a repeat of the "figure" earned makes him a contender again.
3rd pick: #8 (Macho Macho) - Lightly-raced and improving son of "Macho Uno" rallied strongly to win the rich West Virginia Derby(G2) on Aug. 4 and the second-place finisher "Bouron Courage" came back to win Louisiana Down's "Super Derby"(G2) last out. The faster the pace, the better his chances.
