Top pick: #6 (MY HAPPY FACE) (9-2) - New York shipper has a fine overall record (8-3-4-1), and comes off a pair of sharp efforts at saratoga. Grey filly finished second in the "Coaching Club American Oaks" (G1) on July 20th and was beaten a neck last out in the (G1) "Test" stakes. I like her chances.
nd pick: #9 (Close Hatches) (5-2) - Very talented filly skipped the summer's big races after an easy win at Belmont on June 22nd in the "Mother Goose" stakes (G1). Working fast for this and Juddmonte Farms home-bred is a win candidate.
rd pick: #7 (Sweet Lulu) - Undefeated (4-for-4) daughter of "Mr. Greeley" shipped from Del Mar to Saratoga and was a very game winner of the (G1) "Test" stakes on Aug. 24. Race was her first on conventional dirt and this speed/stalker should be involved from start-to-finish.
th pick: #4 (Asiya) (20-1) - Lightly-raced filly is one of two entered by trainer Kiaran McLaughlin and the pair race uncoupled. Shadwell home-bred comes off a career best when winning a Sartagoa sprint on Aug. 14 and will be stretching-out in distance and taking a big step up in class.
th pick: #8 (Promise Me More) (10-1) - No-speed type goes turf to dirt in her 2nd back off a five month layoff. She has some ability, and a fast and/or contested pace could help her land a small slice at a big price.
