Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (AMBLIN MAN) (4-1) - Much improved of late, he's facing winners for the first time. Speedy sort went gate-to-wire here Aug. 31st facing fellow Pa-breds for a $10K tag. He had finished 2nd in three of four prior to that, and that recent win gave this 3yo a career best 'figure.' He's nicely spotted and breaks just off the rail. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #5 (Mettler) (15-1) - Gelding takes a big drop in class after an even effort at Penn National for a $22.5K tag Aug. 20th. He's racing at a new low and should contend at this level.
3rd pick: #9 (Ruby's Love) (9-2) - Lightly raced gelding ships back from Penn National where he tired late to finish a close up 4th going a mile on the turf. Race was his first since late June and his connections bring him back quickly, drop him in class, switch him from turf to dirt, and shorten him up in distance.
4th pick: #8 (Anhourofhonor) (20-1) - He's one for 50 overall, but has earned minor awards in 20 of those starts. Even paced type is dropping in class and cutting back in distance. Must be left in the mix.
5th pick: #11 (Harrington) (12-1) - He has good early speed and is another that's dropping in class. His post is of no help, but he's very quick from the gate and has a shot at a big price.
