Top pick: #5 (ART CLASS) (3-1) - Well-bred gelding has spent his entire career on the grass (11-0-4-1), and will be drooping to a new low in price and racing on the dirt for the first time. 4yo by turf champ "Artie Schiller" can take this if he responds positively to the surface change.
nd pick: #1 (Poke Slam) (7-2) - Very lightly raced gelding by "Grand Slam" races third back from a 16 1/2 month layoff, and showed good speed last out before tiring to finish fourth. He takes a big drop, has the rail, and is a win candidate.
rd pick: #3 (Printer's Alley) (12-1) - No speed type has finished second in three of his six starts, all racing here at this $10K tag. The faster the pace, the better his chances.
th pick: #2 (Alvitude) (6-1) - He spent the first half-dozen starts of his career in England, and will be racing for the second time here following a year's layoff. He ran evenly last out on the Delaware grass for twice this price, and will be dropping in half and trying the dirt for the first time.
th pick: #9 (Three Dollar Bill) (5-1) - Improving sort ships back from Penn National where he set a pressured pace and held down the place spot on Oct. 3rd. He should contend if he can avoid a wide journey from this outside post.
