Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #5 (SO FAR GONE) (7-2) - The field's only first-time-starter, she's from the annually high percentage barn of Jorge Navarro. Trainer is 60 for 188 (32%) so far this year, and this filly had a sharp half-mile drill at Monmouth Park May 21. She need not be anything special against this weak group.
2nd pick: #10 (Steph Got Even) (3-1) - Grey filly is working nicely here for her first race in seven months. 4yo has a new trainer (Dan Velazquez) who is 20% with new arrivals. She was competitive here in four of seven starts last year and is a strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (My Awesome Alie) (12-1) - Lightly raced 3yo is cutting back in distance following a wide and even effort here at this tag going a mile May 16. She was 'bumped' at the break that day, so she had a legitimate excuse. Think she can be competitive at a big price.
4th pick: #3 (Careful Choice) (5-1) - Veteran maiden has been competitive here in four of her last five starts and has finished 2nd in three of those. Speed/stalker should be involved turning for home, but needs to do better from that point to the wire.
5th pick: #2 (Avishcalledvanda) (6-1) - No speed type generally falls far back after the first 1/4 mile. Can grab a share with a late rally, but would need a complete pace collapse for anything more than a minor award.
