2nd pick: #1 (James Alex) (6-1) - No-speed type is dropping in class and shortening up in distance. He's rallied to finish second in three of seven dirt sprints and all have come facing a bit tougher. In shape and he'll be finishing fast.
3rd pick: #7 (Shem Creek) (10-1) - Bred/owned/and trained by Keith Nations, colt dumped his rider when making a sharp left turn out of the gate when debuting here against tougher Sept 27. He's worked well since and takes a big drop in class for his second appearance.
4th pick: #8 (Debonaire Man) (6-1) - He's nearing his sixth birthday and is still seeking his maiden win. Gelding moves up a bit in class after finishing third here at this trip facing fellow Pa. breds for a $10K tag Sept 21. Encouraging effort came in his first back off a 17 1/2 month layoff.
