In the barn of leading trainer Ramon Preciado, he has him working sharply. Preciado has had many horse at the meet run well off of similar freshenings.
2nd pick: #4 (Awesome Bond) (10-1) - Colt is lightly raced and is stretching out in distance in his second back from almost an eight-week break. He ran evenly while never involved in his return sprint here March 12. Stalker had the inside post in a large field and didn't look comfortable. Can impact today at a big price.
3rd pick: #3 (Lighteninginfive) (2-1) - He's listed as the morning line favorite. Unraced since Dec. 15th, he was claimed here that afternoon by trainer Mike Pino for $10,000. He was never really in the running in that contest, but had the 11-post going two-turns and was forced into a very wide trip. Pino wins at a 24% rate first off the claim, and this 4yo gelding is a major threat.
4th pick: #1 (Moonlite Encounter) (3-1) - This is start #29 in search of his maiden win. He's finished 3rd in his last pair here, has the rail, and early speed. In good form and is dangerous if left alone on the lead in the first 1/2 mile.
