Top pick: #6 (SIR NEWCASTLE) (9-2) - Once classier type raced very wide and evenly last out while never able to reach contention. Veteran had finished 2nd in his previous start at this level, and today's added distance is a plus.
2nd pick: #4 (Amaman) (7-2) - He chased and held down the show spot here going 5.5-furlongs facing slightly better June 20. It was his first race in eight months, and his best ever on real dirt. Speed/stalker is brought back quickly, drops a bit, and should be involved from start-to-finish.
3rd pick: #1 (Son of Posse) (5-2) - The morning line favorite, he has good early speed and finished second here at this level going 6-furlongs June 22. Has the rail and should factor from on or just off the lead.
4th pick: #7 (A Better Tomorrow) (8-1) - He's racing second back off a seven month layoff and stretching out a furlong. 5yo rallied mildly to check in a non-threatening 4th in his return May 18, and believe a small slice is his ceiling.
