Top pick: #7 (JUDI'S JOY) (3-1) - Freshened up since June 22, gelding 'Smarty Jones' is moving from turf to dirt and dropping back down in class. Four-year-old ran second here on the dirt at this level April 21 and he draws a nice outside post at this 6.5-furlong distance.
2nd pick: #3 (James Alex) (5-2) - Monmouth shipper is dropping in class and Jersey bred moves in with 'open' company. He raced evenly last out from a tough outside post and earlier this year went 4-0-2-1 racing here at Philly Park. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #4 (Red Razzo) (4-1) - Consistent sort has gone 8-0-4-2 racing on the dirt both here and at Penn National. He finished a very distant second racing locally July 25 at this level going 6-furlongs. A threat, but needs to do better during the final furlong.
4th pick: #1 (Diamond Prince) (5-1) - Lightly-raced, he's dropping in class for his first since June 2. He's raced evenly in his first pair and the drop should make him competitive this afternoon.
