She gets a slim edge.
2nd pick: #8 (Frank's Rockette) (2-1) - Home bred filly had an impressive 2yo season going 4-1-3-0 while finishing 2nd in a pair of Grade 1 stakes. Speed/stalker won her 2020 debut by seven lengths at this distance in a minor stakes at Gulfstream Park Feb. 22, is an obvious win candidate here, and I could have easily made her to top selection.
3rd pick: #1 (Kimari) (5-1) - She went 5-3-1-0 last year, including a close up finish facing males in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G2) Nov. 1. She had beaten the boys in her previous stakes Oct. 6 at Keeneland and was a 15-length maiden winner April 25 at Keeneland in her only start to date on the dirt. Working fast, trainer Wesley Ward has big money rider Mike Smith in for the day.
4th pick: #10 (Wasabi Girl) (15-1) - One of a two fillies entered the Asmussen, and the pair race uncoupled. This $130K purchase finished a non-threatening 3rd here in the Dixie Belle Stakes Feb. 15 in her first race since Nov. 27. Stalker draws well for her style and is capable getting a share at a big price.
