He completed the trip in a swift 1:09.60 and earned by far the best last-out figure in this field. He'll be tough if it's repeatable against this talented group.
2nd pick: #7 (Eight Rings) (2-1) - The field's only G1 winner, he did that going 8.5 furlongs at Santa Anita in the American Pharoah Stakes Sept. 27. He tired badly in his follow up there in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) Nov. 1 and hasn't raced until today. Working very fast for Bob Baffert, he's an obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Echo Town) (4-1) - One of two entered by Steve Asmussen, and the pair race uncoupled. A winner of two of three, he scored here in a 2l allowance at this distance March 13 and completed the six furlongs in 1:10 Flat. Dangerous today.
4th pick: #1 (Little Menace) (9-2) - The second of the Asmussen pair, he finished 2nd, almost five lengths behind 'Long Weekend' here in the Gazebo Stakes March 21. Competitive in all four attempts, he has the rail and is capable of factoring, but will need to do much better today.
