Top pick: #3 (KNOCK EM FLAT) (3-1) - Speed-ball is cross-entered in the Arkansas Derby later in the card, but this seems the more likely spot for him to run. Always highly thought of, this son of "Flatter" cost $350K a year ago and enters this off a very sharp maiden win here on March 27th. Very much improved of late and he'll be tough if he holds his present form.
2nd pick: #5 (Rivers Run Deep) (9-2) - Stretch-out sprinter enters off a pair of rallying second-place finishses here facing weaker going 6-furlongs. In shape and colt has a shot at a square price.
3rd pick: #1 (Six Spot) (5-1) - Lightly-raced stalker did not race as a 2-year-old, but has gone 3-2-1-0 at this meet since seeing his first action in late January. Has the rail, is still improving, and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #6 (Sheltowee's Boy) (6-1) - From the same barn (Brad Cox) as "River's Run Deep," gelding has gone 4-2-1-0 on the dirt and strong finisher won an allowance here at this distance Feb. 17. He raced evenly last out in the (G2) "Rebel" and should find this field a bit easier. The faster the pace, the better his chances.
