Colt finished second Nov. 4 in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) at Del Mar and closed out his year by winning the G1 Los Alamitos Futurity but was disqualified and place third. Speed/stalker can take this if ready.
2nd pick: #4 (Magnum Moon) (7-2) - Colt by 'Malibu Moon' has won both starts over weaker and is making his stakes debut for trainer Todd Pletcher. Stalker was working fast at Palm Beach Downs before shipping here and Gulfstream's leading rider Luis Saez is in for the mount. This colt gets a 'class' test this afternon.
3rd pick: #1 (Title Ready) (12-1) - From the barn of Steve Asmussen, this colt was a very impressive winner here at this distance facing entry-level allowance foes Feb. 1. It was his first since Nov. 25 and his first with blinkers. Son of 'More Than Ready' has the rail and is a threat at a big price.
4th pick: #10 (Combatant) (8-1) - Another from the Asmussen barn, strong finisher has finished second in both starts at this meet including the G3 Southwest Stakes at this distance Feb 19. Competitive in all five outings and must be left in the mix.
5th pick: #7 (Sporting Chance) (5-1) - Colt finished third here Feb 19 in the Southwest Stakes (G3) in his first since winning Saratoga's Hopeful Stakes (G1) Sep 4. $575,000 son of 'Tiznow' was 2.5 lengths in back of 'Combatant' last out and most likely needed the effort for conditioning purposes. Working fast since and you get a pair of 'Hall of Famers' trainer D.Wayne Lukas and jockey John Velazquez at a square price.
