Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (DUST DEVIL) (7-2) - Home-bred has been competitive in both starts at the meet. He missed by just under a length debuting at this level and distance Jan. 25, then rallied to finish 2nd under similar conditions March 7. Not very quick from the gate, he should receive a fast and/or contested pace to rally into, and I give him a slight edge.
2nd pick: #10 (Golden Notion) (5-1) - Speedy and lightly raced, this colt is working fast here for his first start since June 2. He was competitive in his first three attempts, two of which came here last winter at this level and distance. He draws a good post, and speed/stalker is a win candidate if ready.
3rd pick: #9 (Majestic Jazz) (6-1) - Speedy sort moves off the rail and runs with blinkers on. He's finished 3rd in both starts at the meet and had to be sent hard last out from his rail post. His outside post can lead to a less stressful trip, and he's in the mix.
4th pick: #3 (Stonegate) (20-1) - Longshot moves up in class after finishing 2nd here for a $16K tag Feb. 9. It was his first start since Jan. 4 of 2019, and he runs off a claim by veteran Mike Laurer. 5yo may get a share at a big price.
5th pick: #2 (Wild Popit) (3-1) - Lightly raced 5yo by 'Tapit' won here Feb. 28, but was disqualified and placed 2nd. It earned him the highest figure any of these has attained, and he's an obvious contender, but I believe he's a bit vulnerable at a short price.
