Premium Pick

Top pick: #5 (GOLDEN GUY) (5-1) - He's finished 2nd in both sprint starts on the Golden Gate "Tapeta" surface and is stretching out in distance and racing on conventional dirt, both for the first time. The horse to beat, but make sure you reverse your exactas.

2nd pick: #1 (Red Globe) (6-1) - Price play ships from So. California and will be making his first start on real dirt. His prior turf races have been against some tougher fields than this and he's a stretch threat if he handles the dirt.

3rd pick: #4 (Calico Kitten) (10-1) - Gelding is another that racing on real dirt for the first time. 3yo by "Kitten's Joy" has early speed and held gamely to finish 3rd last out on the Golden Gate lawn.

4th pick: #7 (Storm Kitten) (4-1) - Well bred colt raced evenly last out at Golden gate and was only a length back of "Calico". He's making back-to-back starts for the first time and the world's winningest rider (Russell Baze) is back on the re-ride.

5th pick: #9 (El Mesano) (6-1) - No speed type draws a tough post, but is well bred, in the Hollendorfer barn, and has shown enough that he's a threat if avoiding a wide journey.
