Top pick: #5 (DON'TGETSUSPICIOUS) - In-shape mare is 15-for-33 overall and last out at Charles Town on Sept. 17 she won the $75K Pink Ribbon S. Previous start saw her press a fast pace here before weakening late in a very tough field in the $85K West Virginia Secretary Stakes. She has a bullet 3-furlong work at Laurel on the 18th in preparation for this and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #4 (Little Polka Dot) - She's pretty quick in her own right and is 7-for-17 overall and went wire-to-wire here on a muddy track in late April in her only previous local appearance. Louisiana-bred ships back from the south where she was victorious in a $100K stakes at Evangeline Downs on July 2. Daughter of "Orientate" should be involved every step.
3rd pick: #6 (Fastation) - She hasn't raced since winning a stakes last December at the Fair Grounds and runs off a private sale and a trainer switch to Joe Woodard (28% with new stock). Capable, and she won the Mountaineer Juvenile S. here on August 7 of 2010 when in the barn of Steve Asmussen.
