Top pick: #6 (RON BURGUNDY) - "Ron" has been sharp in both local starts since coming here from Presque Isle and joining the high percentage barn of Doug Shanyfelt. Speed/stalker has leading rider Parker back aboard after a one race absence and this 3-year-old by "Harlan's Holiday" gets the call in a competitive contest.
2nd pick: #9 (Sli Na Grapple) - He's improved noticeably since switching to the barn of Wendy Uhacz during the early summer. Grey gelding has gone (6-1-3-1) since the change and strong finisher should get a fast/and or contested pace to rally into.
3rd pick: #1 (Watch Fire) - Speedy and lightly raced, he was an impressive maiden winner here sprinting on Sept. 8, then ran evenly after a slow start at this level on Oct. 12 in his first facing winners. Has the rail, Houghton back aboard, and 3-year-old will be trying a two-turn distance for the first time.
4th pick: #2 (Imperial Crown) - Runs third back off a nine month layoff and grey gelding by "Bellamy Road" showed an improved effort in his second off the long break. Capable, and he should be a big price.
