Top pick: #1 (SEVENTEEN AND ONE) - The probable favorite, he comes off an impressive 13 length maiden at this mile distance win here on Sept. 21. Grey gelding by "Macho Uno" was racing off a six month layoff and it was his first on this surface. 3-year-old cost $135K so there are expectations. Has the rail and will be tough in this spot.
2nd pick: #6 (Ron Burgundy) - Nice effort here on Sept. 17 saw him race close-up throughout and rally to finish second at this level and distance. The effort was his best since breaking his maiden at Santa Anita in early April and was his firt off a private purchase by owner/trainer Doug Shanyfelt.
3rd pick: #7 (Atlantic Dancer) - Colt has some late kick and will be stretching back out and racing on real dirt for the first time. Son of "Stormy Atlantic" would benefit if the pace were fast/and or contested.
