Top pick: #2 (HIT KING) - Gelding is the type that can "run all day" and should have no difficulty handling this 9-furlong distance which most are trying for the first time. Last out he finished fourth at this level, going shorter and leading rider Deshawn Parker will be aboard for the first time.
2nd pick: #4 (General Stallings) - He raced evenly in the same Sept. 16 contest common to several others and three back he finished second at this distance on a muddy track. Well-bred 4-year-old has been improving for some time now and gelding by "Smart Strike" is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (Moonward) - Strong finisher has been sharp in four straight at this level and should love today's longer journey. He breaks from the ground-saving rail. The faster the pace, the better his chances.
4th pick: #8 (Suave Fox) - He ran well last out when finishing third at this level and distance Sept. 16 and did so from a difficult outside post. He has fine early speed to utilize and should be involved from gate to wire.
