Top pick: #7 (MERLIN BAY) - New York-bred has been competitive in all but one of his six starts since shipping down from Aqueduct in the spring. Strong finisher likes this trip and should get a solid pace to rally into if all go that are entered. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Instill) - He's part of a Genaro Garcia entry and the two runners have separate riders listed. Veteran gelding was claimed last out at Churchill for $7500 and this $5K tag is one he's comfortable at. Strong contender.
3rd pick: #2 (Sir Deputy) - Has the rail, some positional speed and he could grab a share at a nice price. Gelding has been beaten by "Merlin" the three times they've met, so he needs to step it up for any shot at the win.
4th pick: #1a (Bonnistar) - The second half of the Garcia entry, he has some speed, but last out was four back of "Merlin". His post is of no help, but he's dangerous nontheless.
