Top pick: #8 (CHERRY POINT) - Daughter of "Point Given" broke slowly and tired badly in her debut after rushing-up to set the pace facing special weights in a two-turn grass contest at Hawthorne on Oct. 14. Has a new trainer for this (Kellyn Gorder 19% with new arrivals), and he'll switch her to the dirt and remove her blinkers. Barn has had an absolutely great local season (33-11-6-7) and Deshawn Parker has won with 12-of-29 mounts over the past 18 months for the barn.
2nd pick: #9 (Barbara Please) - Filly has finished second in a pair of sprints here to begin her career and will stretch-out in distance for trainer Genero Garcia. She shouldn't have any problem with the extra yardage, and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (Mavata) - Filly by "Zavata" has been bet in all three outings, but has tired in her last pair after racing evenly in her debut. His father won the Belmont Stakes so the new distance tonight shouldn't be an issue. Thinks she'll show whatever talent she has in this spot.
