Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #9 (CATFISH HUNTER) (3-1) - He moves up just a bit after missing by a 'nose' going 5.5 furlongs at Santa Anita June 10. It was his second back following a six month layoff and he's worked above average twice since. He gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #10 (Fire to the Wire) (7-2) - Very sharp in three straight, he finished second facing a bit weaker May 24. Five-year-old had just missed in his previous start against $16K 3l 'open' claimers and is a win candidate today.
3rd pick: #11 (Joe Jackson) (6-1) - Golden Gate invader moves to conventional dirt after going 9-4-5-0 there racing on the Tapeta surface. He finished second when debuting on the dirt in late July of 2017 so he can handle the switch. Speed/stalker is in the mix.
4th pick: #8 (Will Tell) (8-1) - He's switching from grass to dirt and is back in with fellow state breds. Very fast from the gate, he'll be in this turning for home but need to do much better during the stretch run.
