He was an easy winner when debuting at Santa Anita Feb 21, then missed by a 1/2 length there at this level and distance April 1. He's brought back quickly, has blinkers added, and can win this down the long stretch.
2nd pick: #2 (Adair) (5-2) - Speedy colt has won two in a row in wire-to-wire style. He's earned lofty figures in each and he's breaking just off the rail. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #7 (Cartoonist) (7-2) - Another with early speed, gelding has been freshened up for just over two months. Four-year-old missed by a 'neck' sprinting at Turf Paradise Feb 17 and he won his only previous start here Dec 10. Must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #3 (Sam Slick) (8-1) - The third member of the speed brigade, he finished fourth last out at Santa Anita and was 3.5 lengths in back of 'Atascadero.' However, it was his first start in 10 months and she should move forward off of it. Possible price play.
