Top pick: #5 (JUST KIDDING) (2-1) - 'Triple Crown' nominee enters today off a pair of solid back-to-back efforts at this level and distance at Santa Anita. Speed/stalker has been freshened up since March 19, is working fast, and has been competitive against tougher groups than this. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Travel Bound) (12-1) - Long shot races off a 9-week freshening and does so as a NEW gelding. Away slowly in his first pair, he's working fast for his return, has the rail, and has Pedroza aboard. Think he's a big threat with an alert beginning.
3rd pick: #4 (Da Genius) (8-1) - He's lightly-raced, well bred, and coast $350,000. He finished third in a pair last summer at Saratoga, then tired in early November at Santa Anita in a race won easily by 'Dortmund.' Working extremely fast for this and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #10 (Attack) (3-1) - One-run type enters off an even effort on the Santa Anita turf for a $50K tag June 6. He had gone 3-0-1-2 on the dirt there prior to that and is a contender if able to avoid a wide trip from this outside post.
