Unlike most entered, he can pass horses late in a contest where many will be 'spent' by mid-stretch. I give him a slight edge.
2nd pick: #2 (Rightful) (3-1) - Even paced in all three facing tougher, he's taking a big drop while moving from grass to dirt. A $50,000 purchase, he's from a good barn (Vlad Cerin) and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #7 (Spectator's Dream) (7-2) - This 3yo missed by a 'neck' at this level and distance May 5 at Santa Anita, but tired badly in his follow up after being sent hard from his inside post. He moves out in the gate and is a strong factor with his 'A' game.
4th pick: #8 (Derby Storm) (6-1) - A lightly raced gelding, he has a bit of speed but was almost 10 lengths back of 'Spectator's Dream' when last in action (May 5). Believe a minor award is his ceiling in this contest.
