Top pick: #5 (SALT POWER) (5-2) - Gelding has proven to be a disappointment to date, but has been facing tougher on the Del Mar "poly." He has some figures that will beat this field if repeatable on conventional dirt which he's racing on for the first time.
nd pick: #4 (Changing Game) - Harris Farm's home bred rushed up following a slow start and tired in the final furlong when debuting at Del Mar for this tag Aug. 28. Good small barn (Blake Heap) brings him back quickly and switches him to real dirt.
rd pick: #6 (Tribal Mystery Man) (7-2) - He has a bit of speed and comes in from Del Mar off a troubled start on Aug. 1. Good barn (Bob Diodoro) has worked him four times since and the latest was a sharp half-mile drill at Santa Anita just six days ago. Win Candidate.
th pick: #3 (Warrensbrotherbill) (10-1) - Longshot has been competitive in all four local starts and is coming off a troubled and even effort at Del Mar Aug. 1. Stretch threat in this spot.
th pick: #2 (Exponentially) (5-1) - He showed some promise earlier in his career, but his form dipped considerably late in 2013. Has some speed, is working fine, and goes off a pair of layoffs. A factor with his best.
